Please consider honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month with us at the Shave for Cancer, Wednesday, October 6th at 6pm at Patrick Smith Park, 1001 Canyon Rd. in Santa Fe,NM. This October 6th marks a landmark day for Breast Wishes Fund founder Lexie Shabel. Five years ago she was quoted statistics that if she had surgery, did chemo and radiation, she had a good chance of living another five years. Well here it is, and though she did do some chemo, Lexie… did not have surgery or radiation and lives with her breast cancer every day. She has documented this ride in “the ME film”.
The Shave for Cancer is a public head-shaving event where Lexie will invite the community to witness or join her in shaving her head in solidarity for people living with cancer, regardless of their treatment path. Prayers will be offered by spiritual leaders including Tulku Sang-ngag Rinpoche and personal story-sharing is encouraged by those touched by cancer.
The Breast Wishes Fund improves access to integrative breast cancer treatment and breast wellness to women of all ages. Please join us for our free Integrative Medicine Educational Forum and Fundraiser which will include a work in progress of “the ME film”, October 9th at Center for Contemporary Arts in Santa Fe, from noon to midnite.
